School Meals at No Charge For All Children
Effective immediately, Wythe County Public Schools will be serving meals at no charge to children 18 and under. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved waivers for local school divisions and other federal meal program sponsors to implement the Summer Food Service Program to provide meals to children in the community free of charge through December 31, 2020. The waivers support access to nutritious meals while minimizing exposure to COVID-19.

Change to 2020-2021 School  Year

On August 13, 2020, the Wythe County School Board approved a plan to move the start date of the 2020/2021 school year to Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Additionally, beginning September 8, WCPS will move to a 100% virtual instruction model for all students. The 100% virtual instruction will last until October 26, 2020, which was the identified date for the end of the first quarter on the 2020/2021 school calendar. The Wythe County School Board will continue to receive updates at their regularly scheduled meetings to determine if any changes need to be made. In the meantime, all WCPS students and their parents/guardians need to read the 2020-2021 WCPS Digital Learning Parent/Student Handbook provided in the link below.
