School Zone Speed Limit Enforcement
To ensure the safety of student pedestrians, school transportation, and other motorists. Starting this spring, the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office and stationary speed enforcement cameras will step up speed limit enforcement in school zones and road work zones. Drivers caught on camera speeding through school zones will be issued civil penalties of $100.

Health Textbook Adoption

WCPS will be adopting middle and high school health textbooks for the 2022-23 school year.  The textbooks are available for review at the WCPS School Board Office through May 31, 2022.  

Mask Update for Staff and Students


Beginning Tuesday, March 1st, Wythe County Public Schools will no longer require students to wear masks on vehicles operated by the school division. However, students still have the option to wear masks at their discretion.

Also, beginning Thursday, March 3rd, employees and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks while in WCPS buildings and WCPS vehicles. However, employees and visitors still have the option to wear masks at their discretion.
